Zoo Day

In Classical Conversations the kids learn a timeline song. Instead of having Roo sing it all summer long as review ,(it takes her about 15mins to sing the whole thing), I decided to have her start over and just add 7 a week. Also Doodle will be joining us for this, since she will be learning it next year as well. I am trying to have Roo really learn the motions for it and make sure she knows them well. 

KK's letter today was Ff. 

We did our basic find the Ff on the wall and made Ffs out of Spielgaben. 

For Buddy and KK for their Spielgaben lesson we did the food chain mobile. 

Don't judge our bright pink eyes ;-) I had bought googly eyes at the beginning of spring, but the kids thought it would be fun to pop them all out one day. It kept Buddy and KK entertained for quite some time so I wasn't about to stop them ;-)

Once we made all the animals, we talked about what they ate and then made up silly songs about them. I feel kids learn so well with song, so we try to make up songs about a lot of what we are learning. 

After we did the animal mobile lesson, I made a last minute decision to take the kids to the zoo. It was a nice sunny day. I had been wanting to take them since Buddy and KK had been learning a lot about animals. We enjoyed the day and when appropriate I would ask questions about what they ate or how they live. Sometimes I know my kids can tune me out when I go on and on, therefore I just tried to let them learn by observation and let them be kids that day!
